Social Media Management
Client: Bethany Lutheran College

After recognizing an opportunity to better connect with current and prospective students, I stepped into managing Bethany’s social media presence across all major platforms: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
I believed the biggest growth opportunity was through Instagram as it allowed us to target both current and potential students, while also catching the college's alumni base. I worked closely with students to make posts more relatable, collaborated with campus photographers and videographers, leaned into stories, introduced a new link in the page bio for strategic sharing, and kept a regular eye on peer institutions and online trends.
I oversaw the campus accounts from May 2021 through the end of January 2022 when I transitioned to a new career opportunity. By sharing consistent and intentional content, our engagement steadily increased—Instagram specifically grew by 20%, with post likes growing roughly 40% since May.
In that time, I also led campus presentations on social media best practices, helped launch multiple additional accounts, and supported other campus groups in strategizing and creating content.
Taking on social media in addition to existing responsibilities was challenging, but hearing directly from alumni who noticed and appreciated the shift in the content being shared helped affirm the value of these efforts.
