Sioux Falls Office Mural

Client: ISG

full mural design

In the fall of 2023, I had the joy of traveling to Sioux Falls to experience my first mural after it was fully installed. A mural is always a dream project, so to see months of hard work in all of its scale and glory was an absolute delight.

The design was created via Adobe Photoshop composites and is a celebration of South Dakota’s landscape as well as a blending of ISG's shared values of curiosity, adventure, and innovation.

The back wall was wrapped with a map of South Dakota's terrain. From the wall, five transparent acrylic panels stand out, and this is the real heart of the mural. When viewed individually, each panel captures a blend of the values listed above. Yet when you step back, the panels come together to showcase the one cohesive design with flowing landmarks such as the Black Hills or Falls park.

Originally, this office wall was slated to be wrapped with what was essentially a large nature photo. As the building was being constructed, the team decided to reconsider the wall design and reached out to the ISG marketing team (enter: me!). As we pitched concepts to the team, I knew compositing was one of my strengths and something I wanted to lean on with this project. Through a melding of team visions, the final design emerged.

Overall, this process was such an incredible collaboration— from the architecture and interior design experts behind the Bancorp building where the mural lives, to company leadership, and of course our stellar marketing team members (who even surprised me with a spotlight on the accompanying mural signage!).
